On or before January 1st of 2008, we will be merging all our brands under the EIRCA name. Sanfire and This Is Hosting have enjoyed a long and prosperous run as subsidiary brands but the time has come to unite them under the main banner.

This decision has come as a result of extensive research, analysis and, of course, discussions with many of our long-time clients. The main catalyst for uniting the brands is, as can be expected, the potential marketing possibilities that arise as a result. No longer will we have to target several different audiences with multiple plans of attack; we can unite the marketing efforts of myself, Amanda and Callum. This, of course, will help EIRCA in the long run and strengthen the company on a whole.

For those not aware, here’s a little sidebar:

ThisIsHosting.com is our shared and application hosting brand. It started as “Interactive Hosting”, our very first brand, way back when we ourselves operated under the Rain Interactive banner. Amazingly, this was way back in 2000.

Sanfire.com is a relatively new brand that came about after several reseller and shared hosting clients asked us to expand our line of managed dedicated server products.

Work on the merge has already begun internally, and we expect to be able to start rolling out the new introductions within the month. The EIRCA web site will retain its look and feel [though a strong argument can be made for the ThisIsHosting.com design) and will only be slightly modified in its appearance in order to make way for the incoming features and service offerings.

Several of our competitors have actually also made this move in the past year or two and, without trying to blindly follow suit , I do believe it is the best way to go if you have a really strong and complementary offering. The benefits are seemingly endless. We’ll be able to unite our support team, support portal, forum, etc, aswell as bring in several chained lines that were previously not possible.

Comments or suggestions are welcome, as usual, and I’ll try to respond to each of them as soon as I can. I go on vacation on October 25th for two weeks so don’t expect lightning fast responses to comments.

Thanks!
